The electorate of Dobell covers northern parts of the Central Coast.
Its boundary stretches from Wamberal, Wyoming and Lisarow at one end, to Toukley, Charmhaven and Blue Haven at the other. It also extends west to include the townships of Kulnura, Cedar Brush Creek, Dooralong and Jilliby.
It wholly includes the suburbs of:

Erina Heights - West of Central Coast Highway, rest in Robertson electorate.

The seat is named after Sir William Dobell, who was a prominent Australian artist.
