UPGRADING TWO OF THE WORST ROADS ON THE CENTRAL COAST
The Albanese Government is delivering $825,000 to improve two of the most dangerous roads on the Central Coast under the Black Spot Program 2022-23.
Under this round of funding, $620,000 will be spent on a 3.8-kilometre stretch of Fagan’s Road, Lisarow between Tuggerah Street and The Ridgeway.
This will go towards vehicle activated signs, upgrading the seal, installing barriers on the roadside, and adding reflective pavement markers, curve alignment markers, guideposts with reflectors and a mark barrier line.
$205,000 will also go towards upgrading Showground Road at Narara between Mann’s Road and Racecourse Road.
This will fund the installation of raised islands with additional Stop or Give Way signs, a barrier on the roadside, the marking of road edge lines, upgrading the intersection, and adding a mark barrier line.
The Federal Government’s Black Spot Program aims to improve the safety of Australian roads where a number of serious crashes have occurred or are at-risk of occurring.
NSW will receive a total of $29.5 million under the program’s 2022-23 funding round, which will go towards a total of 93 projects.
