SPORTING GRANTS OPEN
Grant opportunities are now open for Local Sporting Champions and Local Para Champions on the Central Coast.
The Australian Government recognises that junior sportspeople, and their families, find it difficult to meet ongoing costs associated with participating in state, national and international sporting championships. These grants assist in meeting those costs.
Local Sporting Champions is an Australian Government initiative designed to provide financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 who are participating in state, national or international competitions. The program commenced in November 2008 and has supported over 75,000 junior sportspeople to achieve their sporting goals.
Local Para Champions is an Australian Government initiative designed to provide financial assistance for participants aged 12 to 24 attending an eligible state/territory, national or international championships, where the championship is specifically for athletes with a disability. A total of $500,000 is available in the 2023-2024 financial year
