FIXING ROADS ON THE NORTH END OF THE COAST

The Central Coast has one of the worst road backlogs in NSW.

After recent weather events, there are even more potholes and hazards on our roads than there have been previously.

In fact, a recent NRMA report revealed the Central Coast was in the top two for callouts to fix tyres and wheels in the state, missing out on the top spot by just one call.

Coasties deserve better roads to improve safety, ease congestion, and reduce the cost of wear and tear on their cars.

That’s why I’ve been working tirelessly to secure funding for our local roads.

Today I’m pleased to welcome Labor’s Shadow Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development, Catherine King, to the Coast to announce a national boost to roads funding under the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program (LRCI).

This expansion of $250 million will focus on outer urban and regional roads.

This is an important funding boost for regions like the Central Coast and I will keep fighting to make sure the Coast gets its fair share.

Our roads should always be a priority.
