LABOR WILL UPGRADE CENTRAL COAST SCHOOLS
If elected, an Albanese Labor Government will fund upgrades for schools on the Central Coast, including Gorokan Public School and Porters Creek Public School.
Gorokan Public School will receive $30,000 for an outdoor learning area with shade sails, and upgrades for the school’s sensory garden playground.
Porters Creek Public School will also receive $20,000 for a new outdoor learning and play area.
Labor’s Shadow Minister for Education, Tanya Plibersek, and the Member for Dobell, Emma McBride, visited the schools to share the news with staff and students.
Labor believes every Australian child deserves the best start in life, including a great school education.
The past two years have been hard for all Australians, and our kids have had to adapt to remote learning while being isolated from friends and missing milestone events.
It’s also been incredibly difficult for P&Cs to fundraise since the pandemic began.
These extra funds will go a long way towards supporting local schools.
Investing in upgrades like these will help our schools provide a world-class education to their students. It also gives kids the chance to participate in activities and events crucial to their development and wellbeing.
Only Labor will invest in schools on the Central Coast.
This announcement is one part of Labor’s plan to invest in local schools. An Albanese Labor Government will ensure every school reaches its fair funding level, and will deliver $440 million to schools for better ventilation, building upgrades, and mental health support, to help kids bounce back after COVID.
