DOBELL SPORT BACK IN THE GAME
Killarney Vale Australian Football Club will get more than $80,000 in support to get back on their feet following last year’s floods.
The funding will go towards the restoration of the current field surface and improve the drainage of the oval to handle heavy rain. The grant will also provide a physical block to prevent the flooding waters from being able to flow onto the oval when the creek breaks its banks.
The Essential Community Sport Assets Program is jointly funded by the Federal and NSW Governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements, as part of the broader Community Local Infrastructure Recovery Package (CLIRP).
A total of $36 million has been awarded to 96 projects to repair and rebuild damaged facilities that were impacted by the February or June floods, including in the Central Coast.
Whether you’re on the field, in the canteen or in the crowd, local sport brings people together and creates long-term connections.
The last 12 months has been tough for a number of sporting groups, and this support will help them to rebuild.
It also aims to make damaged sporting infrastructure more resilient in the future, including through drainage, irrigation and track improvements.
