Federal Member for Dobell
DELIVERING FOR THE CENTRAL COAST
The Albanese Labor Government has delivered for people on the Central Coast in its first federal Budget.
We have confirmed our election commitments, including two Medicare Urgent Care Clinics and a Medicare-funded MRI licence for Wyong Hospital.
Assistant Minister for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention, Emma McBride MP says this will give locals access to more affordable healthcare.
“As a pharmacist who worked at Wyong Hospital for ten years, I know what it will mean to our community to have this MRI licence confirmed in the Budget,” she said.
“Locals will be able to access affordable, life-saving medical scans when they need it, close to home.”
The Budget also confirms $40 million in roads funding for the entire Central Coast.
“One of the number one issues people raise with me is the state of our roads,” the Assistant Minister said.
“The Central Coast has some of the worst roads in NSW and after recent weather events, there are more potholes and hazards on our roads than there have been previously, so a $40 million injection into local roads will make a big difference.”
One of the centre pieces of this Budget for the Coast is a Food Manufacturing Hub, which will receive $17.14 million from the Government backed up by $37.5 million from industry.
This project will create more than 280 local jobs on the Coast, it will drive economic growth in the region, and it will help the Coast expand its unique food and beverage market.
The Government is also delivering $4 million towards Tuggerah Lake, with the funds to go to programs including flood mitigation and storm water management.
“As the local Federal Member, I’m proud to deliver on our commitments for the Central Coast,” the Assistant Minister said.
“The Central Coast is front of mind for this Government and the Member for Robertson, Dr. Gordon Reid, the Member for Shortland, Pat Conroy and I are determined to make sure the Coast gets its fair share.”
