COASTIES RECOGNISED IN KING’S BIRTHDAY HONOURS
Three outstanding locals have received recognition in this year’s King’s Birthday Honours List.
Mrs. Vanessa Anderson from Shelly Beach, received the Order of Australia medal for her service to the community through charitable organisations.
She played a key role in establishing the Jordan's Batten Disease Research Trust and the Batten Disease Support and Research Association Australia, holding various positions and serving on the board from 1998 to 2016.
Mr. David Smallman from Wyoming, was honoured with the Order of Australia medal for his service to the community of the Central Coast and to cricket.
He held numerous positions within the Central Coast Cricket Association, including President and Board Chairman, and served as President of the Gosford-Wyong District Cricket Association.
Additionally, he made significant contributions to various community organisations, such as the Tea and Coffee Program at Gosford Court House and the Gosford Uniting Church's Sunday Lunch program.
Colonel Anthony John Morton (Retd) from Long Jetty, was recognised with the Order of Australia medal for his service to war widows and their families.
He has been actively involved in Brisbane Water (NSW) Legacy, serving as President and Vice President, and holding various positions within the organisation over 20 years of membership.
He is also a member of the Terrigal-Wamberal Branch of the Returned and Services League of Australia.
