5,000 People At Lake Haven Medicare Urgent Care Clinic
The Albanese Government is investing $5.7 billion over 5 years to strengthen Medicare.
Part of this is the roll out of 58 Medicare Urgent Care Clinics across the country to deliver easier access to health services and take pressure off stretched EDs.
Medicare Urgent Care Clinics are designed for people with urgent but not life-threatening emergencies – a cut, a sprain, or a bite.
They’re opened 7 days a week with extended hours, and they’re 100% bulk billed.
Since the rollout began in June 2023, over 250,000 Australians have visited one of the Medicare Urgent Care Clinics across the country.
On the Central Coast, there are two Medicare Urgent Care Clinics – at Umina Beach and Lake Haven.
The Lake Haven Medicare Urgent Care Clinic opened at Coastal Lakes Medical Practice in December 2023 to service the northern end of the Coast.
As of this week, 5,000 people have visited the Lake Haven Medicare Urgent Care Clinic.
4 months since opening, the clinic is working as intended and taking pressure off the Wyong Hospital Emergency Department.
The Lake Haven Medicare Urgent Care Clinic is open 8am to 7pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 7pm on Saturday and Sunday.
