Certificates of Appreciation
It is a privilege to help recognise the service and sacrifice of veterans in our community through the Australian Government’s Certificate of Appreciation program.
This certificate is a formal expression of the nation’s gratitude and honours:
-
Veterans who served overseas from the Second World War onwards, and
-
Those who contributed through home front service during the Second World War.
The Certificate of Appreciation may be presented to eligible veterans, or to the family of a deceased veteran, as a lasting and meaningful acknowledgement of their service.
It is commemorative in nature and does not influence eligibility for veterans’ benefits.
How to apply
To begin, applicants must assess their or their family member’s eligibility and complete the official Department of Veterans’ Affairs application form, available on the DVA website.
Send the completed form to [email protected] and my office will arrange the issue of the certificate.
For further assistance
If you require assistance with the form, please contact my office. Questions regarding the Certificate of Appreciation program more generally can be sent to [email protected].
