I have written to Prime Minister Scott Morrison to ask why roads in neighbouring Robertson will get much more Federal funding - $46.1 million - than roads in Dobell - $5.7 million.
I asked locals to nominate the roads they think need to be upgraded.
Their list included: Pacific Highway, Wyong; Central Coast Highway, Forresters Beach; Enterprise Drive, Fountaindale; Warnervale Road; Georgina Avenue, Gorokan; Hiawatha Road, Woongarrah; Lucinda Avenue, Killarney Vale; and The Corso, Toukley-Gorokan.
Of those roads, only one, The Corso, will receive federal funding.
I am calling on the government to bring forward infrastructure spending to stimulate the local economy by fixing our roads.
This liberal government should fast-track urgently needed works on the Coast. Scott Morrison needs to review the road funding announced for the Coast. Put road safety before politics, and invest more on roads in the former Wyong Shire.
