2016 Volunteer grants

November 16, 2016

EMMA McBRIDE MP MEMBER FOR DOBELL

VOLUNTEER GRANTS OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS

Federal Government grants of up to $5,000 are available to community groups and Not-For-Profit organisations to help meet the costs associated with their volunteering activities.

Applications are now open for the 2016 Volunteer Grants, which will support purchase of small equipment items, fuel and transport costs and training and administration charges for eligible volunteer groups.

Federal Member for Dobell, Emma McBride, is calling on local groups to apply.

“There are so many volunteers on the Central Coast, they do great work and most of the time they don’t ask for anything in return,” Ms McBride said.

“When administrative and equipment costs come up, this takes important funds away from the core business of a volunteer group. These grants will help cover these incidental costs, which will ultimately mean more money for the communities they serve.”

“I’m encouraging all local volunteer groups to put an application in for this program.”

Applications for the 2016 Volunteer Grants will close at 2pm on Tuesday, 20 December 2016. Organisations requiring further information are encouraged to contact the Dobell Electorate Office on 43530127.
