Thank you to everybody who participated in, and donated to, the Grant McBride Memory Walk at Long Jetty on Saturday. I was overwhelmed by your support, and especially by the final fundraising total - an incredible $20,000 for Dementia Australia!

The drizzle certainly didn't dampen anyone's spirits, and I was so pleased to see many people walking with, and for, their family members. So many of you have family stories like mine, and I was touched that you shared your experiences.

A big thank you!

I have many to thank: Dementia Australia, Central Coast Dementia Alliance, The Entrance Men's Shed, Wyong Rugby Leagues Club, Westfield Tuggerah, Wyong Lions Club, Younger Onset Dementia Social Club Central Coast (YODSS), and Lots of Watts.

I appreciate the support of MPs Anne Stanley, David Mehan and David Harris, Central Coast Councillors Jeff Sundstrom and Kyle MacGregor, and Robertson Labor candidate Anne Charlton.

Take a bow, fundraisers and runners!

Well done to our champion fund-raisers: Integrated Living, Team Dotty, the McBride Family, Total Recall, and the A-Team; and individuals Wendy Lee, Samantha Boyce, Mary Trotter, Simon Wood and Georgina Chalker, who also ran a personal best. Congratulations to first across the line YODSS (1km), Nathan Williams (4km) and David Mehan MP (7km), and to Best Fancy Dress: Darth Vader (Callum Hayes, of Breakthru).
